During the February half term holiday 6 siblings of children at Oakleigh School (aged from 6 - 11 years old) attended our Siblings Drama activity day.
It was lovely to welcome two new members, who were warmly absorbed into the group by our friendly regular attendees. It was also great to introduce two new members of staff who helped to run the day; Sophie Oakleigh’s Music Therapist and Sheila an LSA in Yellow Class who has lots of experience running Drama workshops.
As a group we explored themes from the story of ‘The Musicians of Bremen’; making friends, exploring new talents and working as a team. Musical activities and games helped the group to connect in the morning ready for an enactment of the story after lunch.
Thank you to our enthusiastic audience Sandra, Anna-Maria and Janna who came to watch our performance in the afternoon. As usual members brought great energy, focus, compassion, imagination and playful spirits. They interacted well together demonstrating their understanding of the connections they all have within the group.
Feedback from the siblings included;
We hope to offer another day in the Easter holidays where we will look forward to seeing familiar faces and new siblings – stay tuned for details...
